MEDALLION - large ornamental panel featuring crest or some other decorative element

MONOCHROMATIC - of one color (dark to light) i.e. black & white color scheme encompasses black through all the shades of grey to white
MONOMER - small, light-weight molecule
MORTAR - lime and/or cement mixed with sand and water forming a paste, which adheres brick, stone, marble or other hard surfaces to one another
MOSAIC - broken fragments combined to create intricate ceramic tile patterns
MOTIF - dominant or recurring theme throughout a project

MOULDING - British spelling for molding
