Lightouch Design Competition Announces Grand Winner
SINGAPORE, July 13, 2007 /Lightouch/ -- The Lightouch Design Competition 2007 Grand Winner is announced at the Award Ceremony on 12 July 2007, with Dr Balaji Sadasivan, Senior Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts, as the Guest-of-Honour.
The grand winner Caitlyn Sara MacKenzie from New Zealand, selected after a rigorous judging process that culminated in the final stage in Singapore over the last five days, will receive a learning trip to the FLOS factory in Milan, on business class travel, sponsored by FLOS. The winning work entitled 1296 is created with 1296 incised cuts within a two dimensional plane creating an organic form, a delicate dance echoing through layers of contortion.
The judges also included two special mentions awarded to Liu Zhili for his work Singing Bulbs, and Lee Suk Woo and Byeon DongJin for Hurdle Lighting.
Lightouch Design Competition is pleased to showcase the winning works of the competition at the public exhibition at Space Furniture from 13 22 July 2007. Seven finalists were selected out of 939 total submissions countries from 53 countries following a rigorous judging process from an international judging panel.
