Avi Brosh's Palisades Development Group Storms Hotel Industry with Debuts of Palihouse and Custom Hotel in Los Angeles in 2007
Palihouse West Hollywood to Reinvent Long-Stay Hotel in Primary Urban Markets
Custom Hotel to Provide Budget-Minded, Style-Conscious Travelers with New Destination in West L.A.
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Palisades Development Group unveils plans for its first foray into the hospitality industry with the debut of two hotel brands in Los Angeles in 2007. Palihouse West Hollywood, a new concept in urban, boutique, long-stay hotel and residences, and Custom Hotel, a 250- room, design-driven hotel geared towards savvy, budget-conscious travelers, will both open their doors in summer 2007. Already an established name in the vanguard of the Los Angeles real estate community, Palisades stands poised to transform the landscape of the L.A. hotel industry in the course of a single summer with the launch of its first two hospitality brands.
In an industry often based on partnerships between notable developers, designers and restaurateurs, Santa Monica-based Palisades brings a fresh, unique approach with projects developed fully in-house from inception to completion, including acquisitions, entitlements, property development, architecture, interior design, construction management, branding and marketing, food and beverage, and hospitality property management.
Under the Palihouse brand, the firm is planning four boutique urban lodges -- in West Hollywood, Hollywood, Venice and Palm Springs -- that will be comprised of a mix of fully furnished, fully serviced, condominium homes and oversized hotel suites suitable for extended stays replete with destination food and beverage venues. Located in some of the most exciting and desirable neighborhoods in and around Los Angeles, Palihouse will offer boutique, high-style urban living. Each Palihouse will propose a different, uniquely Californian experience and will be defined by service, contemporary style, convenience and a flair for the unexpected.
"We're taking the long-stay hotel concept, upgrading it, and taking it in an entirely new and exciting direction," said Avi Brosh, founder and president of Palisades Development Group. "Palihouse fuses the boutique, urban hotel with a turn-key condominium experience, adding a complementary destination restaurant, bar, lounge, and/or other food and beverage element to the mix of each property ultimately bringing something to Los Angeles that hasn't existed before."
The first Palihouse-branded hospitality offering, Palihouse West Hollywood, will epitomize understated elegance, comfort and intimacy. Located at 8465 Holloway Drive in one of Los Angeles' most vibrant neighborhoods, this breakthrough project will be comprised of 37 serviced and fully furnished homes and guest suites. Palihouse West Hollywood will be renowned for discretion, serenity and a unique atmosphere that belies its location in the heart of West Hollywood. Reminiscent of classic New Orleans style with a distinctly European ambience, the property will have the soulful feel of the French quarter, subtly blending classical and contemporary elements. Affirming the atmosphere of a private home, customized furnishings will add special touches to each of the personal spaces. An intimate lobby living room and lounge will enhance the domestic feel, and the interiors will be rich in texture and design. A courtyard restaurant will create a serene yet vibrant pulse at the heart of the building. The philosophy of distinction extends to every detail including full amenities, which will include housemaster, butler, chamber maid and in-room dining services.
Custom Hotel is the firm's first transient hotel property and is located at the southwest corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Manchester Avenue in Westchester near Marina Del Rey, Playa Vista and Los Angeles International Airport. The Custom Hotel tower, which was most recently the Furama Hotel under different ownership, was originally designed by Welton Beckett, the renowned mid-century architect known for his modernist approach as well as a number of Los Angeles landmarks including the Capitol Records building, the Cinerama Dome and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Under Palisades, the 12-floor hotel will undergo an extensive renovation, transforming the tower into a vibrant and contemporary space and adding significant outdoor areas. The end result will be a whimsical and design-driven hotel that caters to the needs of the sophisticated yet budget-savvy traveler.
"We saw a need, in this area of Los Angeles, for a lifestyle-driven hotel that caters to a customer looking for great design at a modest price," said Avi Brosh, president of Palisades Development Group. "Developing hotels to serve the next generation of Palisades' clients seemed like a natural progression for the company. This acquisition further ensures our long-term viability, not only as a development firm, but as a lifestyle company as well."
The hotel will boast uniquely refreshing suites offering some of the city's most stunning and panoramic views as well as communal spaces on each floor with different, playful themes. A secluded 100-seat restaurant, an outdoor pool bar and lounge, a rotation of eclectic DJ's, and a fun and decidedly quirky design sensibility will make Custom Hotel a destination hot spot for travelers and locals alike.
