Making the Fantasy Come True
Wine Country Design Seminar Captures the Essence of Napa & Sonoma
Can we bottle this?
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 7 / San Francisco Mart/ -- Almost everyone who has visited the Northern California wine country has entertained the fantasy of becoming a vintner, or at the very least, owning a cozy cottage nestled in Napa or Sonoma. A chosen few actually live out this dream.
During the San Francisco Marts Summer Home Furnishings Show, you can learn how to capture some of this magic in your own design projects during Wine Country Architecture and Interiors. This trade-only seminar, presented by author Mary Whitesides, will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 4 at the San Francisco Mart.
In this seminar, Mary will show you through an array of captivating architectural and design styles of numerous estates and cottages in the Napa and Sonoma valleys. Mary will review what is unique about the architecture and interiors, and highlight interpretations that reflect the spirit of the home owner. She will discuss the common themes that tie several predominant styles together, as well as the design edicts that are lessons to the rest of the country.
Mary Whitesides has designed everything from interiors and home furnishings to pottery and coffee mugs. Her Peruvian-inspired furniture collections are widely distributed and featured in museums, including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. In addition, she was one of the four founding members of the Sundance Catalog and a partner in developing the Sundance look, as well as the author of Desert Style, Mountain Style, and Wicker Design.
Admission to the seminar is $25 for SF Mart members; $35 for non-members. RSVP and pre-payment are required. To RSVP, contact Ruthie Indencio at or .
