International Design Guild Launches 2006 ASID Student Design Contest
MANCHESTER, New Hampshire, Aug. 22 /The International Design Guild/ -- The International Design Guild and its affiliated member showrooms are preparing to launch their annual ASID Student Design Contest. For the past 8 years, the contest has served to recognize and reward ASID student designers for their outstanding floor covering creations in both broadloom and rug categories and has awarded over $80,000 to contest winners.
Contest applicants have the opportunity to win cash awards in denominations of $2,500, $1,000 and $100 for first-place, first runner-up and honorable mention, respectively. A panel of seasoned luxury floor covering Guild showroom owners will judge entries based on individuality, use of color, and overall design. Contest applicants may submit as many entries as they wish in both broadloom and rug categories and Guild members will complete judging entries by February 1, 2006.
Krista Eliason, Vice President of the International Design Guild explains, “Everyone in our organization is amazed year after year at the amount of stunning entries we receive. There are many gifted students who deserve to be recognized for their talent.”
ASID Student Chapter participants who wish to enter the contest must be currently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning. All designs must be in color and on unlined paper no smaller than 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches. Applicants must print their name, address, telephone number and e-mail address on the back of the designs and to confirm authenticity, the design must be signed and dated on the back by its creator.
Entries must be received by January 5th, 2006. Students are encouraged to submit both rug and broadloom designs, but may only be awarded once in each category.
